Wp-Insert and WordPress 3.2 issue resolved
I have updated Wp-Insert to version 1.7.4 to be compatible with WordPress 3.2.
Those who have not upgraded your WordPress installations upgrade Wp-Insert prior to updating WordPress. If you have already upgraded and lost your menu
1) Login to your site via FTP.
2) Goto wp-content/plugins/
3) Delete the folder Wp-Insert
4) Login to your WordPress admin.
5) Click Add New under Plugins menu and install and activate Wp-Insert.
UPDATE : If the admin section looks garbled even after updating. Clear your browser cache and try again.

Its not fixed still! I’ve updated to Wp-Insert 1.7.4 & Still Having The Same Issue!
not working in any way
tried alot
thanks for the fast update!
uninstalled and re-installed the plugin. It doesn’t work.
Clear your browser cache and try again.
thanks for the update – it didn’t seem to work for me initially but clearing browser cache sorted it out
It worked after I cleared my browser cache
I upgraded to WordPress 3.2 and Admin left menu disappeared. It took me a while to figure out that it is to do with WP Insert plugin.
The solution as suggested by Namith is (which I’ve to figure out by myself before checking this post)
1) Deactivate the plugin
2) Upgrade the plugin from WordPress Admin. Ftp etc is not needed.
3) Clean Browser Cache
Refresh the page – CTRL+F5 or if it still doesn’t work close the browser and restart.
I’ve tested it and it works.
Working! Thanks for your quick response!
Sorry Namith for mentioning the problem on my blog….. I have corrected it
Thanks for providing a quick fix to this problem
No worries..happy to see that people are noticing our plugin…
not working for me either
I followed the instructions for upgrading the plugin, but when I activate wp-insert, the menu disappears
make sure you have cleared your browser cache…
When I active wp-insert-wp into /wp-admin/plugins.php the menu disappears. When I disable the plugin, the site works fine.
If the admin section looks garbled even after updating. Clear your browser cache and try again….
I have a multisite install with wp-insert, and when I upgraded to 3.2, it lost the left menu as you mentioned. Deleting wp-insert and refreshing fixed it, and when reinstalling the new wp-insert, the problem returned, so for wp with multisite enabled, the plugin is still broken.
Wp-Insert is not supported in MU Installs..
Hi
I cannot get wp-insert to work despite going through all the fixes mentioned here including the FTP solution.
The problem i have is if i activate the plugin all the text disappears from my posts and pages and the widgets are completely rearranged on my site.
I am running using wordpress 3.2.
Maybe i should add i am using the Heatmap theme
Make sure your theme is standards compliant…Non Standard themes may have issues with different plugins..
Thanks Namith but how do i now if the Heatmap theme is standards compliant?
I have been following a video course which recommends the Heatmap theme together with wp-insert and they had no problems with this combination. However this was before the 3.2 update.
I have had no problem with the menu disappearing. The problem is that the plugin appears to delete all the posts and pages and places the widgets in completely random areas?
Try activating another theme to make sure it is not a plugin issue…If it works with another theme you can be sure its a theme issue and not a plugin and you can contact the theme authors about the same…
Nathim,
you nailed it thanks for your help. Definitely a theme issue. Will ditch the Heatmap theme and move on.
If the admin section looks garbled even after updating. Clear your browser cache and try again.
Did all the above, including clearing the cache.
Still doesn’t work for me in either Chrome or Firefox. Side menu is missing.
Your browser cache is still not cleared!!!
Recently setup my site, noticed I had 1.7.4 but an older version of WordPress, it was updated automatically and now my ads show “Page cannot be displayed” but only in the widget areas, post ads are working fine…if that makes sense. Do I need to follow the uninstall-reinstall instructions? I can access the wp-insert admin tools with no problem.
Thanks!
Wp-Insert does not have a message embedded which says “Page cannot be displayed”….It might be coming in from the ad service provider..
Hello,
I have installed wp-inser 1.7.4 in my wordpress 3.2+. It worked fine without the menu panel disappearing or messing up. However, when I tried using the plugin and clicked the drop-down menus in the ads section of wp-insert, the menus don’t open up and I could not paste my ads codes. thanks
Try deactivating other plugins one by one until the menu becomes visible….This is due to some other plugins causing JavaScript errors….You can even reactivate the other plugin once you are done setting up the ads if the plugin is important..
Was wondering for a good New York minute what the heck happened, after upgrading the WP install. Good post. Will follow your directions and try again. yesssssssssssssssssssiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! =)
